BIG Plans

My BIG plans...

So, ever since the last episode of The Great American Baking Show, people have been asking about my "big plans". Well, my plans are big to me, but they may seem small to you. I don't have a cookbook deal or a brick-and-mortar bakery, but I do have some happy activity.

For me, being on the show reminded me of and taught me a few things:

1. I really love working. I'm a worker. I like to be busy in my head and body.

2. I am artistic, and it brings me huge amounts of joy when I get to be creative.

3. I've dreamed of owning a business for as long as I can remember.

My heart feels tender typing these things because they matter very much to me. I am super excited to share that I've officially started a business! Like, for real. I have had my home inspected by the department of agriculture. I have my food safety license. And, I spent a looooong day at the Atlanta City Hall getting my business license. I was pretty motivated by my passion and dreams to get this done. I HATE paperwork. So, I'm amazed that I powered through. I am going to be making cakes and other baked goods from my home. It may grow, it may stay small, but I am incredibly excited to be a business owner! I hope I'm still as enthusiastic in a year. ;)

The pictures are of a few cakes that I made this weekend. I'm so thankful to those of you who have placed orders. It's my pleasure to make you something sweet!

Side note, doesn't this cake...

...look an awful lot like a Pucci print? inspired cakes? Could be fun!

***Dear readers, please don't worry that my blog will become a commercial for my business. It won't. I love this creative outlet too, and it stands alone. I will share some of my paid bakes here, but just because I'm proud. It's not a sales pitch. Blegh.
