Butterscotch Blondies



These are ridiculous. The flavors of butter and caramel hit first. Then, you go "wait, there's chocolate in here too?" And then you do a joyful jog because they are that good. 

The first step is to make the caramel shards that you sprinkle on top before baking. Don't skip this step. My first batch was a bit too dark.  The picture below is of my second batch. I think it would be ideal to be a little darker than this, but I went with it because I was out of experimenting time.

 

The rest is pretty straightforward. Prep the pan, mix it up, spread in pan, top with the caramel, and bake. I'm sure you are wanting to get started on these right away.
