Frosting Flowers

I'm calling these "frosting flowers" because a properly piped rose wouldn't be so ragged on the edge. They kind of look like carnations, or maybe roses that some bugs have munched.

Now that I have that out of the way, on to the more important info. My mom taught me how to make these yesterday. It was such a fun experience. I had a lot of thoughts about how much I love her and how fun it is to learn from her. It was comforting to learn from my mom. It was a quick visit to childhood. To learn from someone who thinks you are great is incredibly pleasant. I felt free to experiment and practice without any fear of being embarrassed. That's a credit to her. She always believes the best in her children, no matter how old we get.  It's nice to have someone like that in your life.
