What a Delicious Year!

I have spent the last few days thinking over this past year.  I'm happy with how it's turned out, and I am excited about all of the possibilities of next year.

As far as our family goes, I made it through a pregnancy and we got to meet our son!  That alone is enough to count this year as a good one.

As far as cooking goes, I have learned a lot.  I've learned enough to know that I have only scratched the surface in my culinary adventures.  My biggest failure was probably a ham and bean soup.  You didn't see any pictures of that.  It was made, tasted, and promptly thrown away!  Truly terrible. I think my biggest achievement was the apple cider crostata.  The crust was seriously flaky!  Not only was it good, but it helped me to be more brave when trying new recipes.  I know that sounds awfully wimpy, but, to me, it felt like a revelation.

I am thankful that in so many ways, it was a very delicious year!
