Chocolate Banana Cake with Maple Walnuts

When you are up with a newborn at odd hours you think of odd things.  Sometimes these odd thoughts result in something delicious.  This cake is inspired by the cover recipe from David Lebovitz's book Ready for Dessert, My Best Recipes.

Instead of all banana cake, I layered in chocolate cake too.  I exchanged the sugar candied peanuts for maple candied walnuts.  The last swap was the frosting recipe, both chocolate, but different.

I hate to brag, but it's pretty damn delicious.

Maple Glazed (these would be good as a part of a cheese/charcuterie board too)
Chocolate Frosting...I can't find it online, but any that suits your taste would work.

Happy Friday!

  1. It looks pretty tasty! :) I'm sure you need someone to come help you eat all the good food you've been baking! ;)
