Right Here, Right Now

A while back I was told that stress and negative emotions live in the past and the future.  For me, this rings true.  When I am focused on being present in the moment even unpleasant situations aren't that terrible.

Because of this, I am constantly challenging myself to be present in the moment.  It is not easy for me, and I am totally sure that this will be a lifelong project. Lately, I have found my mind wandering more than ever before to the future.
“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.”
– Buddha
To assist me in my efforts to stay present I went on a hunt for a helpful meditation app.  After a couple of major flops I came across The Mindfulness App.  It's just what I wanted.  There aren't any religious aspects to this app.  There isn't any chanting (yep, my other app picks included chanting...I'm not really in to that). The Mindfulness App is very simple and easy to use.  It has guided meditations of varying lengths.  They help me to be aware of the present moment by focusing on my thoughts, body sensations, and breathing.
