Converse ♥

image: elle.com
I have had a long time appreciation for converse sneakers.  I know I'm not the only one.  Converse shoes have been around since 1908, and they've been making All Star's since 1917. There are three classic American brands that I have seen throughout my life and all around the world: Levi's, Ray-Bans, and Converse.  In addition to seeing them in different countries, I have also spotted them in cities, suburbs, and even in rural areas.  It makes me happy when a brand can be attractive to so many different people.

So, now that I have articulated my Converse crush, let me tell you why this is on my mind.  My current pair has accumulated enough holes that they need to be retired.  A little bit of wear is cool, but at some point you have to give it up.  I'm pretty bummed about this because they have served me well, but thankfully I have another pair being shipped at this very moment.

This time around I'm opting for a slightly modified style.  It's called the "Converse All Star Dainty".  It's a slightly feminized version of the classic.  I'll let you know what I think when I get them.

  1. I had to snicker when I met Fidel Castro's son, Alejandro, in Cuba and noticed his Converse All Stars.
