What do you do?

I was talking with a customer today and he said that the question "What do you do?" can mean different things depending on where you live.  He elaborated:

In Washington, D.C. "What do you do?" really means "How much power do you have?"
In New York, it really means "How much money do you have?"
In Seattle, they really mean "What is your outdoor activity?"
And in San Francisco, "What do you do?" really means "Do you do men or women?"

I don't know if he is totally accurate with his thought.  It is absolutely stereotypical, which tends to annoy me, but worth pondering I suppose.

My answer? I try to enjoy each day. Joie de vivre!

So, I would love to know, how do you answer to the question...

  1. Interesting how it he thinks it might mean different things around the country. I think I saw a forward about that at some point.

    I like your answer.

What do I do? I try to learn from my mistakes.
