NYD Lucky Foods

Happy New Year!  In the southern states, where I am from, people eat black eyed peas for luck on New Year's Day.

I discovered that lucky foods are common for New Year's Day all over the world!

Long noodles are eaten in many Asian countries.  They are thought to bring a long life.  Just don't break the noodle!  Yikes!

If you are hoping for fertility and abundance this year, try eating pomegranate like they do in Turkey.

Pomegranates are also loaded with fiber and vitamin C.  Both are excellent for keeping any winter sicknesses at bay.

Greens are universally popular for New Year's Day.  The preparation changes depending on the country or region, but they symbolize the same thing everywhere: wealth.  Clearly people love money all over the world.

No matter what you eat today, I hope your 2011 is filled with love and luck!
