Inauguration Anniversary

Today marks the second anniversary of Barack Obama's inauguration.  Of course, that is a day that will go down in history.  Not only will we remember the important events, but the fashion from that day will also be memorialized.

Many of us heard quite a lot about Michelle Obama's inauguration gown that was designed by Jason Wu.  I recently got to see it in person in the First Ladies exhibit at the National Museum of American History here in D.C.  It is a beautiful gown made of ivory chiffon.  The details that are hard to see in photos are stunning in person.  There are tiny delicate beads sewn to the bodice and skirt.  The subtle draping around the torso is perfect.

I wanted to also include a close-up of the shoes that she wore to the ball.  I had not seen the shoes clearly before my visit, and I thought you guys might want a peep at them too.  They were an excellent choice for the dress.  Simple and beautiful...Jimmy Choos, of course.
