Last Minute Shopping

Hopefully you have completed your Holiday shopping at this point.  Who am I kidding, I know that you haven't.  There is always one more gift or stocking stuffer that you just have to have.  It's too late now to shop online (even overnight shipping is not guaranteed from most websites).  So here are three quick tips to help you survive in the jungle, aka the mall.

#1 Go early in the day.  Many people are still working.  The stores get busier as it gets later in the day.  Also, most stores have extended hours so that you can get in and out without waiting in a line.

#2 Park towards the back of the parking lot or deck.  I know you want to have the front row spot, but when you go to leave the mall you will be stuck waiting.  If you park closer to the exit of the lot you can make a quick escape.  I was recently stuck a mall parking deck waiting to leave for over an hour.  Not fun.

#3 Don't rush yourself.  If you go with the idea that you will simply get in and get out, you will be disappointed.  Just accept that you are not the only person who waited until the last minute.  Grab yourself a coffee or hot chocolate and go with the flow.

Happy shopping!

@ Linda, YIKES! Definitely go early. Good luck!

  5. Oh my gosh, I could have used these tips! The shopping centre I work at had 24 hour trade last night....and I told myself I would buy all my presents in one hour! There were hundreds of people everywhere and I ended up getting so frustrated because I couldn't get in and get out like I planned! I totally should have just bought myself a hot chocolate and just gone with the flow....I could have enjoyed myself! And you are so right about parking...I just started driving and I'm slowly learning that having to walk that little bit further isn't all that bad. Loving your blog as always x x x

  6. Great tips!We did some last minute shopping this morning and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, we went quite early. Have a very Merry Christmas!
