Latte Art

Anytime you move to a new city you have to find "your" places. For some that means finding their gym. For me finding "my" coffee shop falls right at the top of the list. Today I tried Big Bear Cafe. The name threw me off a bit. I was concerned that it might have similarities to a Caribou Coffee. To me, there isn't much worse of a place than a Caribou Coffee. Anyway, back to Big Bear. It is located in the Bloomingdale neighborhood of D.C. in an old, painted white, brick building. It has a very cozy feeling, although anyone over thirty should expect to be the oldest person there. I ordered a latte and a turkey, Brie, and apple sandwich. They brew up Counter Culture beans, of which I am a big fan. The presentation was excellent. I'm a sucker for latte art. The sandwich was very tasty. My only complaint would be that once I received my order I had no where to sit because all of the seats were taken. I took my goodies outside to the patio. It was only misting rain. Depending on who you are you might say it is miserable to sit out in the rain, but I say it is romantic...and stylish.
